Details

This rare 4.4” ironstone bowl is from the Ristorante Tiberio in Mayfair London. This was one of the most famous restaurants in London during the 1960s and was a favorite of the rat-pack. This restaurant opened in 1961 by Mario Cassandra and Franco Lagattolla. Regular customers included Frank Sinatra, John Wayne, Laurence Harvey and Peter Sellers.
This little bowl is white with gold trim and features the restaurant’s name brand inside the bowl.
The back of the bowl is labeled Vitreous Ironstone which was specifically made for restaurants due to its durability. It was made in Burslem England.
This is a treasured piece of restaurant ware history. I just love it!
