Bird Pie Vent Funnel Whistle Black White Vintage

$15.00

Details

This is a vintage ceramic pie bird, commonly used as a steam vent in baking to prevent filling from bubbling over.
The hollow design on this bird allowed steam to escape through its beak.
The black bird was inspired by the nursery rhyme, “Sing a Song of Sixpence”. It features a black body with yellow beak and measures about 4” tall.
The white bird is made of fine porcelain and was probably made in Japan during the 1950s or 60s. It is also approximately 4” tall.
Both birds are very collectible and are popular vintage kitchen bakery decor.
The black bird is in very good condition with no chips, nice color and a glossy finish.
The white bird also has nice color and a glossy finish, but it does have a chip on its inside beak as shown in photos. Price has been discounted for this flaw.
Each is sold individually in the drop-down menu so you can choose the one you prefer.
