Details
This is an antique cobalt blue and grayish-white small stoneware pitcher featuring a cobalt blue ribbon design on two sides. It is typical of the late 19th century American pottery.
It has a salt glaze finish, characterized by a dimpled or textured surface with a shiny finish.
It is a small pitcher, possibly used as a milk pitcher, measuring approximately 4.25ā from handle to spout and 5ā tall. It has stains and hairline cracks around its rim, character crazing from age and a good size chip along the rim as shown in the photos. This sweet pitcher is over 100 years old and is a nice collectible piece of late 19th century pottery. It amazes me that it has survived all of these years!
