This is an antique or vintage crystal vanity powder jar, commonly used in the late 19th and early 20th centuries to hold cosmetic powders, trinkets and jewelry.
It is made of cut crystal in Portugal and features geometric shapes. The lid is a repousse silverplate, characterized by a decorative pattern. Many of these pieces are designed in the Art Nouveau or Art Deco style.
This lid was probably made by the Portuguese renowned brand “Topazio”, which is often paired with Atlantis crystal like this one.
These jars are very collectible. This one measures approximately 3.75” in diameter and 3” tall. It is in beautiful condition with no chips and the lid still has its black interior velvet cover. It also has its original Atlantis sticker and the crystal is marked Atlantis on the base as shown in the photos.
It’s a beautiful piece for a vanity tray, dresser or bathroom display.
