Ridgway Canterbury English Ironstone Platter Transferware Red Yellow

Details

This beautiful ironstone Transferware English platter is made by Ridgway in Staffordshire England.
The pattern is called Canterbury and features red and yellow Transferware florals on a white background.
Because its backstamp reads, “Genuine Hand Engraving by Ridgway……All colors guaranteed underglaze and detergent proof”, it dates this piece to the 1940s and 50s. This stamp indicates that this platter was made post WWII era before dishwashers became the norm.
It is in beautiful condition with no chips. It does have a yellow stain on the back side as shown in the last photo. But overall, it’s in nice condition for a platter that has survived over 75 years. It measures 14” by 11” in size.
I have matching pieces listed in my shop if you are interested.
