Details
This is an authentic vintage ironstone lidded jar featuring a classic equestrian hunting scene with a green rim. It was made by Adam’s, a historic English pottery manufacturer established in 1657.
The backstamp includes the text “Real English Ironstone” and specifies that this piece is made from “Micratex”, a durable, chip-resistant ironstone formulation introduced by Adam’s in the 20th century. The mark also states “Member of the Wedgwood Group”, which indicates this jar was made after 1966 when Adams was acquired by Wedgwood.
This jar is in very good condition with no chips, vibrant color and a glossy finish. This is a three piece set with the base, lid and spoon. I do not think the spoon is an original as it is plastic. It came with the set, so I am passing it along with this sale.
This jar measures about 2.5” in diameter by 3.7” tall to top of lid knob.
It’s a sweet treasured piece of English ironstone with transferware hunting scene.
