Details
This is a modern reproduction of the Tang Sancai-glazed rhyton or cup featuring a dragon or mythical beast motif in shades of green, amber and yellow.
It is an Asian drinking vessel or rhyton designed with a dragon head and scrollwork handle. Its multi-colored glazed finish is meant to resemble the original Tang Sancai or three-color style pottery.
The profile of the dragon has bulging, rounded eyes, detailed brow ridges and curled ornamental elements to closely mimic the original.
This cup is in very nice condition with vibrant color and a glossy finish. The base has wear and a few thin chips as shown in the photos.
It measures approximately 6.5” from cup edge to outside handle and 4.25” tall. The cup diameter is roughly 3.8”.
This is a collectible reproduction.
