This is a vintage Italian rosary where the cross is a black wood inlay set into a silver-toned metal frame with protective metal end caps. A detailed silver-colored metal figure of Jesus is pinned to the center
This combination of a dark wood-style inlay, contrasting bright metal trim and stylized corpus is a classic mid-century Catholic design. It was very popular from the 1950s through the 70s, especially for sturdy, everyday rosaries made in Italy.
The back of the cross is stamped “Italy”, a world-renowned hub for high-quality Catholic devotional items.
The rectangular centerpiece features the veiled face of the Virgin Mary on the front and Jesus is on the back side pointing to his exposed, flaming heart, which is a symbol of His divine love and compassion for humanity.
Total length of this rosary is approximately 21”.
