Details
This is a gorgeous English ironstone cake stand made by Blakeney Pottery in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England. This pattern is their “Victoria” line as marked in the maker’s mark on the base of this stand. The Victoria pattern was adorned with rich cobalt blue cabbage roses.
Blakeney made these pieces in the 1970s and 80s to mimic the original 19th century flow blue Victorian era pieces. This 1970s version has replicated this romantic, hazy aesthetic.
Its detailed floral arrangement captures the lush layers of the petals and thorny stems characteristic of classic English cottage patterns.
This cake stand measures about 9” in diameter and stands about 4” tall.
Because this cake plate has a pedestal stand, it commands a higher price than the flat cake plates. It’s a beautiful English ironstone cake stand with a classic English pattern.
