Details
This is a European porcelain fairing figurine featuring an equestrian rider dressed in late 18-century/Baroque style attire. It strongly resembles regional historical souvenirs, such as the famous Wien Hofreitschule Lipizzaner horse and rider sets that were widely produced in Central Europe during the early to mid-20th century.
These pieces are known as fairings as they were often prizes or purchased souvenirs at a European fair.
This collectible is around 100 years old and shows signs of wear from age. There is some missing paint and the base has small chips as shown in the photos. Overall, it’s a beautiful collectible fairing piece that is very old and full of European history. This one was probably made in Germany as a porcelain fairing figurine.
It measures about 3” wide by about 3.75” tall.
