Details
This sweet little flow blue berry bowl was made by the New Wharf Pottery Co. operating out of Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, England.
The backstamp style incorporated the Stafford Knot which was used at the end of their operations between 1891 and 1894.
The blurred text at the top of the backstamp reads “Portsmouth”, which matches the dark, fluid Art Nouveau style floral borders with distinct edge detailing that it was made during this period.
This is a small bowl measuring about 4.75” in diameter. It may have been used to serve fruits and desserts.
It is in very good condition with no chips. There is a small bit of wear to some of the gold trim around its scalloped rim.
This little bowl that is 100+ years old will be a nice addition to someone’s flow blue collection.
