Details
This is a vintage institutional or Restaurantware ironstone pitcher featuring green stripes and the crest of The Presbyterian Hospital 1868.
It is chunky ironstone and weighs about 2.4 pounds. It stands 6.5” tall and is 7.5” wide from spout to outside handle.
It’s in good vintage condition with no chips or cracks. It has brown and gray age/wear spots as shown in the photos.
It has a maker’s mark on the bottom and was made by Mayer China between the 1930s and 40s. It was likely produced to serve meals to patients or staff during the World War II era.
This pitcher was a custom order with hospital emblem. The Presbyterian Hospital was a historic medical institution in New York City. It is most famous for eventually becoming part of New York-Presbyterian Hospital, one of the largest and most prominent medical centers in the U.S. today.
This pitcher is a nice piece of medical memorabilia and New York history.
