Details
The distinctive scalloped rim, stippled dots and deep cobalt gradient confirm this is a Splendid or Splendor pattern plate. It was made between 1890 and 1910 by prominent Dutch potteries such as the Petrus Regout Maastricht or Societe Ceramique in Holland.
It does not have a backstamp which is actually quite common for transferware from this era.
It measures about 9” in diameter and was probably used as a luncheon plate.
It’s in good condition with one tiny chip along its rim (see photo) and a flea bite or two. It has brown age marks on the front and back and a few pitted areas on the back. You may also see fine utensil scratches on the face of the plate from decades of usage.
It’s a beautiful piece of flow blue and a nice addition to any collection.
