English Stoneware Jam Crock Hartley’s c1900s-1920s

Details

W.P. Hartley made these off-white, almost beige, Bristol glaze crocks with vertical ribbing in its Liverpool and London factories between 1900 and the 1920s. These stoneware crocks were frequently washed, returned and refilled by W.P. Hartley with jams and preserves.
The bottom reads, “Not Genuine Unless Bearing W.P. Hartley’s Label”. This helped to protect their brand name, ensuring rival preserve companies couldn’t pirate or reuse their custom-molded stoneware pottery.
I have three crocks available. Two of the three feature a vintage style orange label that can be removed, if preferred.
I have a smaller 1 lb size measuring about 3.25” in diameter by 4” tall and a 2 lb “ORANGE” crock measuring about 4” in diameter by 5.5” tall.

Each crock is sold individually in the drop-down menu.
Please see the photos for condition as these English crocks are old and have age and usage blemishes.
